Job Description
Frank Darling is a female-founded fine jewelry brand making custom engagement rings feel exciting, personal, and refreshingly human. Our modern, sustainability-minded designs have been featured in Vogue, WSJ, Bloomberg, Glossy, and more.
We’re hiring a senior frontend/full-stack engineer with strong frontend depth and the ability to build supporting backend functionality. You’ll own customer-facing experiences and selected tools for our showroom teams.
You’ll work with our head of tech, backend and data engineers, existing software engineer and dedicated commerce product manager.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Shopping experience: build diamond search, filters, product pages, ring configuration, cart and checkout interfaces
Customer continuity: preserve selections and context as customers move between browsing, appointments and purchases
Showroom tools: build clear interfaces for customer selections, quotes and order workflows
Performance and accessibility: deliver fast, usable experiences across mobile and desktop
Conversion experiments: implement product changes and reliable event tracking with the product manager and data engineer
Full-stack delivery: connect interfaces to commerce APIs and build supporting server-side functionality
Production quality: own automated tests, error handling, monitoring and release verification
Migration continuity: preserve critical customer journeys, search visibility and analytics as the platform changes
Requirements and Experience
Frontend experience: a record of shipping and maintaining customer-facing web applications
Technical depth: strong JavaScript/TypeScript skills and experience with a modern framework such as React
Commerce experience: work on product discovery, configuration, cart, checkout or another substantial purchase journey
Full-stack capability: comfort working with APIs, authentication, server-side logic and databases
Web fundamentals: practical knowledge of accessibility, browser behavior, performance and technical SEO
Interface judgment: you can resolve interaction details and translate requirements into clear, consistent experiences
Outcome ownership: you use customer feedback and production data to assess whether your work improved the experience
Complex purchases: configurable products, large catalogs or high-consideration buying journeys
Experimentation: feature flags, A/B testing and analytics instrumentation
Platform migrations: moving a live ecommerce site while preserving traffic and conversion
Success in this role means customers can find and configure the right ring, book an appointment or complete a purchase with fewer errors and less friction.
